I feel like I owe you readers something. Especially since I do read and admire your blogs almost every day. I feel like a stalker, enjoying your stories and not sharing some of my own.
So here's my first new years resolution: write more! I've tried to blog before, but I always worry that I'm not really writing anything interesting. But this year, I'm going to try and care less, just write stuff down to get it off my chest.

Then... And you mini-addicts are never going to believe this... I am getting a dollhouse* for free!! Some time ago we were chatting on the Dutch dollhouseforum about dreamhouses and models that we love. So I mentioned mine and a week later I got an email from this nice forumfriend that said she had that exact house, wasn't doing anything with it and willing to give it to me for free! Can you believe that?? I sure as *peep* still can't! I'll show you pictures as soon as it's here.

So that houses the little China girl from earlier posts (waiting for a nice mommy to take care of her though, she is quite a handful!). However, this afternoon, I heard a knock on my door. When I opened, I saw two little mice shivering from the cold. I invited them in and asked what they came for. They said they came all the way from Sweden and were looking for a new place to live. The first mouse is afraid of hights and that's a bad thing living on fjords! I told them I still had some room left but that they have too learn to live with a cat in the same house. They were a little hesitant hearing the C-word, but decided to at least stay the night as it's going to be very frosty again. The second one convinced the first to stay at least two more nights when he checked out the fridge and saw a big chunk of cheese.

So my second resolution for 2010 is to house two little Swedish mice. I'll show you some pictures soon of how they got here. I think I'm going to have to make up their beds now! I still have to name them too. Anyone of you know good Swedish names?
I don't mind the cold all too much. It's the slipperiness that I'm scared of. Some years ago I fell off my bike and had a severe concussion. I missed out on almost 6 hours of my life, even though I was conscious. I was there, but my brain had a hard time recording memories, so I wasn't really processing anything. I kept asking for the date and time and kept crying because it was my mother's birthday and I couldn't remember buying her anything. And all of that every 10 minutes for 6 hours. Scared my mom terribly and the first real thing I remember is her face white as a blanket. I don't want to see that again. It was a scary experience and ever since then I've been a little afraid of falling. It's getting better though! Two weeks ago I got on my bike and went through snow and ice. I didn't fall once and I didn't get off to walk a bit! Yay a small victory!
So as much as I loooove the snow, I'll be glad to see spring coming in. I'll show you some of the pictures I took when I took a 3 hour walk in the park with a friend. It really felt like we went back in time a hundred years. The park is old, the trees are ancient and big and the atmosphere was marvelous.
To give you a clue on how high the snow was... I'm 1.87m (6.1 feet) and I was up to my knees in snow! Or if you're a beer drinker... My boyfriend had to search for and dig out the crate on our balcony, since it was all covered up.

The next one is me in my snow-and-cold-proof outfit. Sorry for the tongue, but I couldn't resist! It was such a beautiful day!

This one wasn't too keen on going out on the balcony though... Doesn't really do her breed justice... She's a Maine Coon and those babies are bred to hunt rats on farms in the northern states of America (read: reaaaally cold winters). Saphira put her feet in the snow, had a good look around, licked her feet, pulled a face at me for letting her sweet paws get wet and ran inside again... What a hero right? (By the way, that harness is to protect her. She can be very clumsy running in to things and falling off tables. Last thing I want is for her to fall off our three storey high balcony!)

Only half an hour to go and it's my birthday! Last day of the year, always champagne and family to celebrate... What more can a girl ask for? Oh well... can't say I mind the 10 miniature gifts waiting for me LOL! We do a birthdayswap on the forum in which you make birthdaygifts all year round for the people in your group. When it's your turn to add a year to your age, you get a bunch of envelopes with little presents to open. It's been a joy ever since I first subscribed!

Since it's my birthday tomorrow, I probably won't have time to do this then. So I'll give it to you now and you can spend the whole tomorrow thinking about what to spend it on. I would like to give everyone who reads this a wishcertificate for 2010. You can spend it on anything and there is no spending limit so your wish may be as grand as you like. Just make sure you use it wisely and wish hard! Have a healthy, wonderful and beautiful new year! I hope it will be your best yet!

  1. I could probably help you with Swedish names for the mice.

BTW, loved the metal things and the chinese doll in that earlier post. :)

  3. Do you have anything special in mind? Are they girls, boys, one of each? Related to each other? Do you want names that sound sort of similar to each other, or totally different ones? (I love naming things! Hehe.)

  4. They're brothers, one is slightly taller than the other, so I guess he's the eldest. Similar first letters would be cool.

Thank you so much for helping out! This is what I love about blogland :)

  5. Here are some suggestions:

Olle & Oskar (The O in Olle is pronouced like an U would be in German, and maybe also in Dutch. Like in Ulrike. The O in Oskar is a "normal" O.)

Tobbe & Totte (Tobbe is a nickname for Tobias, Totte is a nickname for Torsten and sometimes Tomas)

    Hannes & Hampus

    Sigge & Sixten
