Today was open house at the art school in my city. I took my mom and my sweetheart for moral support. At first it was a little awkward, since a lot of 'artsy' people were walking around and I don't consider myself to be an artistic person (though I love to create). But then I saw the work of students and learned about the study programme and it made me feel at home. I loved it! There are big, light workshops, all kinds of equipment and the stuff the teachers and students told me was exciting! I'm definately going for the admission exam in the direction of 'spatial design', but I have to think about my specialization. I went to the open house for more information on interior design, but I also spoke to a teacher from the department of theatre design and that was quite an eye opener! I didn't know that was such a cool field and there were some things that really caught my interest. The guy told me that even if I did choose either interior or theatre, I could switch within the first year of the course.
So again, alot to think about, but fun things :) I'll let you know when I've made my decision, about admission etc. For now, I'll be working on a portfolio.
I couldn't resist but share a pic of the art school I'm talking about ;)
how exciting! I think that theatre design sounds incredibly cool- remember that everyone starts somewhere and at one time every student you saw that you thought was more "artsy" than you had a first day of intimidation too. I think you are awesome for pursuing your dream and I think you will do great!!♥
