Unfortunately, everything that I was working on has to wait a while. My mother in law (I'm not married, but we definately feel like family!) is hospitalized. Last wednesday she had an epileptic attack while shopping and she was rushed to the hospital. There she had 3 more attacks, but thankfully the medication prevented any more. She never had anything like this before, but did complain about a headache last week. Scans revealed a lump on her brain, on the pericranium to be exact. Fortunately it is benign and fairly easily removable. She's home for the day today, but she has to spend the nights in hospital because the risk for attacks is highest then. We were all very scared when the news reached us and so incredibly relieved that it's operable. But we also realise very well that she still has to go through brain surgery and that it's all not over yet. At first I didn't want to bother you all with this not-so-cheerful news, but it really helps writing about it.
I'll soon post happier things I hope and in the mean time I keep reading your blogs to distract me. And hey, the Dutch are playing in the World Cup Football so we're watching today with the whole family!
I'll share some pictures with you here so you can see why Dutch kind of rhymes with nuts.
The shirt below is what my mother in law is wearing today :) The lion is our national animal and it's roar is supposedly heard when the team scores.
I wouldn't say the Dutch are nuts...They just know how to have fun!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your Mother-in-law. She's lucky to have family like you guys there to help her! Hope everything works out for her:)
((Oh, and I still haven't gotten your address to mail your mini mail. Whenever you get a chance....no hurry, I won't send it to anyone else or anything!))
Take Care
Katie
I am also so sorry to hear about your Mother-In-Law. Thankful that they can operate to remove it- but how scary still! I will keep her in my prayers- I hope you let us know how it goes :)
ReplyDeleteI have every confidence and good wish that your beloved's mother will have a wonderful operation and full recovery for the highest good.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely astounding what the modern medical doctors are capable of doing today with these operations! People are healed and return to live long and happy lives after things like this.
Take good care and let your loving embrace all concerned.
Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers! That really means a lot to me!
ReplyDeleteI will keep you updated as soon as there is more news to share. For now, she's home and awaiting a call for more physical exams and the surgery.
